Progress Summit Pitch Deck

Fairbridge needed to convince sponsors and guest speakers to back a brand new conference. The pitch deck had to do that work before anyone had heard of Progress Summit.

The Challenge

Fairbridge required a Pitch Deck for their new conference event targeting founders and investors called "Progress Summit". The branding needed to be related to Fairbridge, so that there was a visual association. However, the client wanted the brand to look different from it's parent company, and to be able to be identifiable in it's own right. The Pitch Deck needed to communicate the message clearly, while feeling premium and fitting for the founders and investors space.


The Solution

We took inspiration from the Fairbridge branding and chose to use the same primary sans serif font. This was to create recognition to the parent company. However, we introduced a fresh italic serif font that differentiated Progress Summit from Fairbridge. Serif fonts also have the perception of formality, academia and finance — all of which would appeal to the target audience that are well-educated and financially savvy.

To establish content hierarchy, we made use of holding shapes so that information-heavy slides could have the text chunked into bite-size portions. Subtle borders, drop shadows and glassy effects gave the content a fresh "User Interface" aesthetic which felt modern and progressive.

We looked to the colour palette of Fairbridge, which was inspired by nature. We wanted Progress Summit's colour palette to also have a nature-inspired origin, but to be more muted than the Fairbridge brand. The primary colour palette was kept neutral with shades of beige and grey so that the text could shine, while pops of colour were woven in through the photography and 3D illustration style graphics.
